Origami Tables by Innermost
Innovative design house, Innermost, has teamed with furniture designer, Anthony Dickens in their first foray into design based furniture.
Launched overseas in 2007, the Origami tables have already won the 2007 Elle Decoration Design Award ‘Best in Tables’ and were described as striking, sexy and simple.
Now a worldwide launch for Innermost, the tables are available in three designs; Cafe Table, Side Table and Coffee Table.
The practical design has a tripod frame that works entirely without fixings. It can easily be folded, flat-packed and stored when not in use. Much like the Origami paper designs that inspired it.
For Dickens, the simple practical approach to furniture design is of the upmost importance:
“It isn’t about stylising an object. It’s about efficient use of material. It’s about maximising functionality and strength,” says Dickens.
The unique design is made from flat pressed steel legs that slot together to assemble the tripod base. On each leg there are two slots, each positioned on a different three-point plane in space. The joints tighten when the glass top is placed on the table, giving the table its full strength.
“Origami is so simple, it’s pure genius,” says Innermost co-founder, Steve Jones. “Finding good designs and great talent like this is a real thrill. It felt like a completely natural decision to introduce furniture to Innermost’s collections when we saw Anthony and his design”.
The stunning Origami table is a unique and bold piece for the discerning customer.
